Question of the Week: Jesus said, “I am the Gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.” What does it mean “to enter through” Jesus? How do we enter? How will you enter?
There is only One Savior, Jesus Christ.
He offered Himself for us on the Cross and we die with Him in our baptism, and rise up out of the waters with His life filling us.
We are born in water and the Spirit.
He is our Gate and we come to Him — and enter into Him through the Sacraments He has established for us, beginning with Baptism.
This Easter has been very strange for us all, for we did not celebrate any baptisms because of the pandemic.
Bishop Boyea has given us permission now to start celebrating the Sacraments: Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage as long as there are not more than 10 people present during the celebrations. That limited number may be relaxed as we move into mid-May, but for now, that is the limit.
Any family wanting their child baptized or any individual who has been preparing for the Sacraments of Initiation or Confirmation may receive those Sacraments. Albert Holder, our Director of Religious Education would be glad to assist any family in scheduling individual First Communions or Confirmations for our young people. Likewise, Deacon Warren Hecht (Director of RCIA) would be willing to help any in RCIA or others who are desiring baptism for their children to schedule these Sacraments.
Some Big News!
Also– we are going to be making available reception of the Most Blessed Sacrament to parishioners hopefully beginning later this coming week! We will need to do this gradually but are putting together a good plan to do this safely. Look for an email that will direct you on how to make an appointment with the Lord! Jesus loves you! Never forget!
