Friday Eucharistic Adoration
Will you come and spend an hour with the Lord Jesus? He is waiting for each of us in the Eucharist, burning with love for us. Come and bask in the glorious presence of our Lord!
What is a holy hour?
A “holy hour” is an old tradition which arises from the Biblical account of Jesus’s last night on earth, when he asked his friends in the Garden of Gethsemane to “watch and pray with me for one hour.” Catholics believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and lives eternally. We also believe that as a special sign of his love and desire to be with us, he is physically present–body and blood, soul and divinity–in the Eucharist, kept perpetually in every Catholic tabernacle throughout the world. In a holy hour, you will encounter the risen Lord Jesus!
Sign up to be a committed adorer for an hour to ensure our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament is kept company.
When can I participate?
St. Thomas has Eucharistic Adoration every Friday following the 7am Mass until 8:45am Saturday morning prior to 9am Mass. While Adoration typically is in the church, the monstrance is sometimes moved to the Holy Name of Mary Chapel (accessible next-door on Elizabeth St.) due to church cleaning (6pm – 8pm) or special liturgies (weddings or funerals) occurring in the church in any given week.

Lord Jesus, on Holy Thursday night, you went to the garden of Gethsemane to pray and cry out to God the Father.
In that agony, great drops of blood mingled with your sweat and with your tears.
In you all times are now, so we enter that garden to watch an hour with you and
to comfort your sorrowful heart.
