Knights of Columbus<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

Council 587 of the Knights of Columbus serves at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Knights are a fraternal organization of practicing Catholic men who are committed to strengthening our faith while building up the parish.<\/p>\n

Council 587 membership meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Office, followed by the Rosary.<\/p>\n

In recent years, our council\u2019s charitable efforts have focused on visiting with and entertaining veterans of America\u2019s armed forces, and raising funds to support intellectually disabled persons at St. Louis Center<\/a> in Chelsea by way of the annual Palm Sunday weekend MI Drive (featuring Tootsie Rolls).<\/p>\n

Christian Family Movement<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

The Christian Family Movement provides friendship and support for families of all ages and stages. The goal is to live out the Catholic faith together. It consists of practicing a time-tested methodology of \u201cobserve, judge, act.\u201d CFM is open to anyone who belongs or ever has belonged to a family, not just for married couples with kids.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Newlyweds\/Engaged Group<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

The Newlyweds\/Engaged Group meets monthly for discussion and fellowship with an emphasis on getting our marriages off to a great start.\u00a0 To be added to the email list, please email Gina and Rob Shereda<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n \t\t \t\t\t

Women\u2019s Discernment House<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

Saint Catherine House (SCH) is a house of discernment for young Catholic women (college and graduate students and young professionals) who are seeking a deeper relationship with the Lord as they determine their vocation in life. Life in the house is centered around the Eucharist, which is kept reserved in a chapel in the basement. Residents receive monthly spiritual direction and are expected to receive Confession monthly and attend daily Mass (across the street at St. Thomas the Apostle or at another church) as their schedule permits.<\/p>\n

Saint Catherine House invites young Catholic women in the area, particularly those who might be interested in living in the house, to attend the monthly House Mass and Dinners. Held on the second Wednesday of each month during the academic year, these evenings begin with Mass in the SCH chapel followed by a free dinner and then a talk, often by a religious.<\/p>\n

Former residents have joined religious orders such as the Community of St. John, the Sisters of Life, the Carmelites of Iron Mountain, the Nashville Dominicans of St. Cecilia, and the Servants of God\u2019s Love, or found their vocations as married women. All have left the house enriched by living with the True Presence of our Lord.<\/p>\n

Altar Rosary Society<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

This group focuses on fellowship, rosary, and planning service projects to raise money for church needs related to liturgical celebrations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
