24-Hour Adoration at St. Thomas<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

8:00 a.m. on Friday until 9:00 a.m. on Saturday<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

During the school year, Adoration begins after the 8:00 a.m. school Mass<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Adoration concludes with the Marian Mass<\/a> at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

While Adoration is typically is in the church, the monstrance is sometimes moved to the Holy Name of Mary Chapel in the rectory (accessible next door on Elizabeth Street) if there are scheduling conflicts. If so, you will see signs directing you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We very much appreciate our committed adorers, who sign up for regular slots up to three months in advance. But you can sign up week-by-week as you are able (or just drop in).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will you come and spend an hour with the Lord Jesus? He is waiting for each of us in the Eucharist, burning with love for us. Come and bask in the glorious presence of our Lord!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u201choly hour\u201d is an old tradition which arises from the biblical account of Jesus\u2019s last night on earth, when he asked his friends in the Garden of Gethsemane to \u201cwatch and pray with me for one hour.\u201d Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and lives eternally. As a special sign of his love and desire to be with us, he is physically present\u2013body and blood, soul and divinity\u2013in the Eucharist, kept perpetually in every Catholic tabernacle throughout the world. In a holy hour, you will encounter the risen Lord Jesus!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking at St. Thomas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Parishioners and guests are welcome to park in the St. Thomas parking lot (see map below). On Saturdays, Sundays, and Good Friday, you can also park for free at the University of Michigan School of Nursing at the corner of E. Kingsley Street and Ingalls Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City meters and surface lots (like the ones in Kerrytown) are also free to park in on Sundays. All municipal parking structures are free to park in on Sundays, with the exception of a rare special event. In those cases, there will be clear signs stating a charge. The lots on the side of and across the street from the Gandy Dancer are therefore free to park in on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n
