Our upper school policy on late grades and absent work:
When students are absent, they are to get work from their teachers during recess or homeroom (before dismissal). If the assignment is not turned in within 7 days, it is considered late.
No late assignments are accepted.
Week of April 12
5/6th Grade Religion
This week we will be creating a silent movie skit and starting unit 4 of Spirit of Truth. We will be learning about the hospitality of Abraham Icon, the Lord appearing to Abraham, and trusting God.
5th Grade Math: This week we will be learning about Multiplying Fractions and Whole Numbers (86), Reducing Fractions, Part 2 (90), Simplifying Improper Fractions (91), and Dividing by Two-Digit Numbers (92). There will be a test on lessons 82, 84, 86, 90, and 91.
6th Grade Math: This week we will be learning about Estimating Area (118), and Volume of a Cylinder (120). There will be a geometry test on lessons 47, 60, 64, 69, 71, 79, 82, 86, 91, 93, 97, 98, 103, 107, 109, 110, 118, and 120.
7th Grade Math: This week we will be learning about Semicircles, Arcs, and Sectors (104), Surface Area of a Right Solid/Surface Area of a Sphere/More on Roots (105), Volume of pyramids, Cones, and Spheres (113), and having a geometry test on lessons 37, 40, 61, 64, 66, 67, 70, 75, 82, 89, 95, 97, 102, 104, 105, and 113.
8th Grade Math: This week we will be learning about Polynomial Equations (Ch. 13-1) and Polynomial Functions (Ch. 13-2). We will have a quiz on Ch. 13 lessons 1 and 2.
5th/6th Grade Nature Studies – Living Systems: This week we will be choosing our final topic for the science fair, working on an Investigation 3 math extension, and reviewing for and taking the Investigation 3 I-Check.
7th/8th Grade Nature Studies – Chemical Interactions: This week we will be choosing our final topic for the science fair, and starting Heredity and Adaptation Investigation 1 Part 1: The Fossil Record.
