Latin for “darkness,” Tenebrae is a solemn and contemplative liturgy consisting of sung psalms, readings, and chants anticipating the betrayal and Passion of Christ. Concluding with Miserere Mei and an unforgettable strepitus “earthquake,” this one-of-kind liturgy is the perfect way to enter into the spirit of the Triduum. English-Latin translations will be provided for this Extraordinary Form liturgy. To read more about the rich symbolism of Tenebrae, see this article.
