Celestine Kreifels: First Grade

Welcome to a new school year! I am thrilled to have your child in first grade this year and am looking forward to learning and growing in faith alongside them. To begin, I would like to give you the opportunity to know a little more about me. Teaching is my passion! I feel so blessed to be here and love that I can teach not only at a Catholic school, but at a classical Catholic school. I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana as an elementary school teacher and reading specialist. I began my teaching career at a Catholic school in South Bend, Indiana before joining Saint Thomas in 2018. Each year of teaching is different and I enjoy getting to know every child and how I can best help them to grow, both academically and spiritually. Sharing a love of our faith with your child is the most important thing to me and I work hard to provide opportunities to encounter Christ in our classroom each and every day. After faith, reading is definitely a passion of mine and one I try to instill in my students. Our class library is probably my favorite part of our classroom, after our Saint wall of course! When I am not teaching or creating materials for school, you can find me reading outside (or near a window in the winter), cooking and baking for friends and family (usually Italian), or enjoying a nice cup of tea while spending time with our awesome God, or my husband, who is also pretty great.
